Tommie Åkesson
Business Sweden Australia - Senior Manager Metals & Mining
Tommie has been with Business Sweden in Australia for over 10 years now acting as the Mining Industry lead in the APAC region and Subject Matter Expert for the organization globally. He has supported >30 Swedish METS companies with entry and expansion in the Australian mining market as well as developed complex multi-stakeholder programs targeting some of the largest mining investments in Australia to position Sweden’s offering.
He supported the establishment and continued development of the “The Swedish Mining Initiative” concept - Sweden’s largest offshore mining conference that had turned into a global program executed on six continents. Before Business Sweden Tommie worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Sandvik in Australia. Tommie has a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lund University.
