Due to the global Covid-19 pandemic both German and Finnish economies are currently facing major challenges. In order to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact, both countries are forced to make large structural renewals, which is in turn opening up opportunities for cooperation between Finnish and German companies, and in the trade between the two countries. Topics such as digitalization of several industries and finding new sustainable solutions lie high on the agenda of the German government and companies. The transformation of the economic powerhouse will soon be in full swing.
Finland is not only one of the most highly digitized societies worldwide; it has actually been applying digital technologies in a whole host of business environments for much of the new Millennium. Besides that, Finland is a superpower in bio-economy and one of the leading countries in circular economy.
In order to give impulses from Finnish digital and sustainable solutions, as well as to foster the excellent business ties between Germany and Finland, Team Finland will organize a virtual Ministerial Delegation on 29th October to Germany. Mr. Mika Lintilä, Minister of Economic Affairs, Mr. Ville Skinnari, Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, and the Finnish Ambassador in Berlin, Ms. Anne Sipiläinen, will lead the virtual visit.
The delegation will focus on experiences and practices in a few selected sectors, highlight success cases as well as offer collaboration opportunities for companies from both countries by means of workshops and speed-dating sessions. The sectors in focus are the following:
