The Work in Finland International Recruitment Advice Service for Employers helps employers based in Finland with their questions about recruiting international talent. Through our “one-stop shop” service, you can get up-to-date information from our specialists about official processes, hiring foreign employees, residence permits, and helping new employees settle into life in Finland.

The service covers recruitment of both international professionals who live abroad and those who are already based in Finland.

Who is the service meant for?

The Work in Finland International Recruitment Advice Service for Employers is for all employers based in Finland, regardless of industry or company size. 

The service is especially beneficial for employers planning their first international recruitment as well as small and medium-sized companies with limited human resources. The service provides a low-threshold channel for asking questions and quickly finding the information you need. We are more than happy to assist anyone working in HR or recruitment.

How does the service work?

Simply ask your questions and our specialists will do their best to answer. Our specialists can help with international recruitment matters in person on the telephone or via email. Employers can call us on 029 501 6770 or email us at tyonantajaneuvonta (at) workinfinland.fi. Our service hours are Mon–Fri, 9.00–15.00.

Is the service free?

All advice is provided free of charge (calls still subject to mobile call charge/local network charge). 

In which languages is the service available?

The service is available in Finnish, Swedish, and English.

What does the service offer? 

Information, support, and advice on recruiting international talent, hiring and permit processes, and relocating to and settling in Finland. The service covers recruitment of both international professionals who live abroad and those who are already based in Finland.

We do our best to answer each employer’s questions, find the information they need, and point them towards the right services.

The employer’s questions may apply to the recruitment and relocation process as a whole or to a specific part of it – such as the types of work-based residence permits available or the way the official procedures for an international employee’s entry are handled during the early stages 

What is not included in the service? 

The advice service does not offer employment services such as advertising a job vacancy. However, we are more than happy to tell you about the employment services offered by other public authorities.

The service is not intended for taking up official matters or procedures directly with authorities. However, we can direct you to the correct, responsible authority.

We also do not provide advice on occupational health and safety, employment contract or labour legislation matters, or issues related to the legislation of other countries.
