Finland is already doing what's next; Creating a people-oriented, proactive society with AI, educating all citizens about how AI affects their lives, running chemical processes with AI, building autonomous ships, moderating the internet with AI, using AI in clinical healthcare, and creating new innovations from health data with AI.

In 2017, Finland was among the first countries to launch an Artificial Intelligence Program. The objective of the 2-year program was to make Finland a leader in the application of artificial intelligence, penetrating through the entire society making Finland AI ready. This is achieved by attracting talent and educating the general population to become citizens well informed and independent.

In this webinar we will hear the outcome of the Program, and what has happened since it ended. Come and hear about lessons learned, how this Nordic country incorporates AI into everyday work of public and private citizens.

About the webinar: 

There are over 400 AI startups in Finland, with 50 new ones emerging each year. Research areas include eliminating shortcomings of current AI technology, creating language independent NLP capabilities, studying new industrial platform economy models, optimizing operations between humans and machines, and applying AI to new domains.

Startup Genome has identified the Helsinki area as one of the most significant AI ecosystems in Europe, along with London and Berlin.

The Business Finland AI program is a 200 million euro government initiative offering companies funding to research and develop new AI solutions. This webinar introduces the program, and discusses solutions created and offered by three businesses: learning design company Claned, content moderator Utopia Analytics, and Saidot, a platform for companies and governments to provide transparent, explainable AI algorithms.
