We then move on to our main building where we bake together: local flat bread and sweet pastries. The old oven in the more than 100 years old Pohjola family home will bake them to perfection. While you are busy with your chores, you will learn a lot of local history, traditions, people. The Pohjola family gladly shares their stories with you. Dinner of the day is served with your own flat bread and the coffee comes with your own sweet pastries.

Wonderful morning at Palosaari reindeer farm
On a reindeer farm, you can take part in tending the reindeer and hear fascinating stories of reindeer husbandry, one of the traditional livelihoods in the north. Reindeer have been a source of livelihood for many families, and they have also been used as transport in the wilderness with no roads. Even though reindeer are semi-domesticated animals, they are also loyal assistants of their reindeer hosts. Reindeer farms are full of hustle and bustle also in the summer. Reindeer calf ear marking, collecting and drying bundles of leaves for reindeer to eat over the winter and the reindeer roundup in the autumn are the best-known activities during the snowless time of year at reindeer farms, but a reindeer farm's summer includes many other interesting activities.
