We are pleased to invite you to participate in the French–Finnish R&D Workshop under the theme AI in industry – a virtual meeting focused on knowledge and experience sharing in the field of AI applications and tools in manufacturing technologies. We invite SMEs and other innovation-oriented organizations from France and Finland, interested in long-term collaboration which will be supported by the two innovation agencies BPI France and Business Finland.

The workshop will be followed by an event in Paris on 17 May 2022. We will open a Call in order to find inspiring market-oriented joint projects between small and medium-sized enterprises in France and Finland: proposals are expected by 26 Sept 2022.

The AI sector in Finland has been in the forefront of adapting artificial intelligence to industrial processes. There are over 400 AI startups in Finland, offering artificial intelligence to create products and services that will become an important part of the global economy in the future.

Since March 2018, French President Emmanuel Macron announced his ambition to make France a world leader in artificial intelligence (AI), thanks to a massive 2-phase recovery plan, for a total of 3.5 billion investment. With a first phase focused on R&D, the French objective is to create French and European champions from our networks of interdisciplinary artificial intelligence institutes (31A), but also from our entrepreunarial ecosystem, which includes more than 500 startups.

Collaboration through innovation projects is an opportunity offered by Eureka Network, supported by the national funding bodies BPI and BF in our countries. This allows enterprises to establish strategic long-term alliances and reach high-level results.

Join the workshop to learn about R&D cooperation possibilities and to find opportunities in the other country. The workshop is targeted to SMEs and other innovation-oriented organizations from France and Finland, as well as research organization involved in innovative applications of AI.
