The Canadian Smart Grid Market – Opportunities for Finnish companies providing solutions for reliable data and transfer, power quality and reliability, grid stability.

Business Finland in Canada and Smart Energy Finland Program have the pleasure to invite interested Finnish companies in the smart grid sector to the webinar on January 26.

Canada’s electricity sector is undergoing rapid change as assets in the distribution and transmission system age, and consumer interests and patterns shift. Across Canada, the electricity sector is seen as an area for future investment to support decarbonization of other industries. For this reason, smart grid technologies and solutions will have a growing role to play to help Canada use its distribution and transmission networks more efficiently.

To support its client companies to identify business opportunities in the Canadian Smart Grid sector Business Finland had a market study made by Sustainable Project Partners Consulting Inc. The study’s purpose is to provide background on the state of the smart grid industry in Canada and to provide recommendations for Finnish businesses on how and where to expand in Canada. Further, the study looks at various opportunities in each of Canada’s provinces and territories. A key component to the study was select interviews with smart grid industry leaders in Canada to gather intelligence. The interviews were conducted between November and December 2021 and included 9 organizations across 4 different Provinces.

The webinar will consist of presenting

Findings of the Smart Grid Study of Canada, Produced by Sustainable Project Partners Consulting Inc. including:

  • Main developments of the Canadian grid
