Germany is today the fifth biggest shipbuilding country in the world measured in CGT (Compensated Gross Tonnage). German shipyards have an order book of total 36 high value added vessels.
Twenty-four German ship owners are currently building new vessels. The new builds include containerships, bulkers, LNG carriers, chemical tankers, MPP cargo vessels and a hydrographic vessel.

To cover the expenses, Business Finland will charge a participation fee for arrangements in Germany on 3–4 September 2018:
- Micro Businesses and SMEs: EUR 952 + 24% VAT per person
- Major Companies: EUR 1120 + 24% VAT per person
Business Finland will invoice the participation fee after the visit based on the actual costs. The invoiced fee will not exceed the amounts mentioned above.
