Looking for new business opportunities in Japan? Join the Team Finland visit to Japan (Tokyo and Yokohama) with Ms. Annika Saarikko, Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services and discover new business opportunities.
Focus topics of the visit are in related technologies; Biotech and Digital Health, Personalized Health as well as Well ageing society (elderly care and support, preventive healthcare).
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan are proposing Finnish involvement at the Well Ageing Society Summit and its co-events BioJapan (Kanagawa) & HCR (Tokyo) coinciding with the Team Finland visit in October.
Japan's healthcare (HC) system is delivered through universal insurance coverage and has one of the highest volumes of hospitals per population. However, Japan is reaching its major turning point. The increasing need for medical care and nursing is evident due to the rapidly aging population.
The growing elderly population and the ageing baby boom generation are creating greater demand for health services in Japan as well as in Finland. Clear cooperation possibilities also exist in related R&D, innovation ecosystems and digital solutions.
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health of Finland and The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan have drafted a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance and develop cooperation in the fields of health and welfare e.g. Health and welfare technology, digitalization and robotics as well as prevention, elderly care and home care.
Japan is currently promoting the establishment of an integrated community care system that enables receiving medical care, preventive care, livelihood support and housing in an integrated manner. This means that the elderly can continue living at home longer even in case of long-term care with the help of advanced technologies.
Business Finland together with Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Healthcare Industries Division (METI) offering an option for the 3 companies to give a pitching speech on the topics of Quality Digital Health, Well Ageing Society at Well Aging Society in Tokyo on 9th October or at BioJapan in Yokohama on 10th October. Please let us know, if you are interested in this option. However, the final decision will be made by METI.
