The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland together with the Ministry of Commerce and Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be hosting the Saudi – Finnish Economic Committee meeting in Riyadh on 5-8 May 2018.
Finnish companies have recently won a number of contracts.The aim of this economic committee meeting is to introduce Finnish offering to the Saudi clients, find new areas for cooperation, and to find out more how Saudi Arabia is diversifying its economy and industries.
In connection with the Committee meeting Mr. Petri Peltonen, Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment will lead a Team Finland visit to Saudi Arabia.
The Economic Committee discussions and Team Finland visit will focus on the following themes:
1. Mining and geology
4. Food and agriculture
The Saudi government has prepared an ambitious plan Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 for the future, which expresses long-term goals and expectations, and reflects the country's strengths and capabilities.
The plan is to make Saudi Arabia a global investment powerhouse with strong investment capabilities, which they will harness to stimulate the economy and diversify the revenues. In addition, the Vision 2030 aims at transforming the unique strategic location of the country into a global hub connecting three continents, Asia, Europe and Africa.
To cover the expenses, Business Finland will charge a participation fee for arrangements in Saudi Arabia on 5-8 May 2018:
- Micro Businesses and SMEs: EUR 1488 + 24% VAT per person
- Major Companies: EUR 1750 + 24% VAT per person
Business Finland will invoice the participation fee after the visit based on the actual costs. The invoiced fee will not exceed the amounts mentioned above.
