We invite you to join the Team Finland visit to Canada on 1 - 5 December, 2019 led by Mr. Ville Skinnari, Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade.
Join the delegation to Toronto and Montreal to establish relationships with important stakeholders and to explore business opportunities in the sectors of Bio- and Circular Economy. Canada offers business opportunities across the entire Smart Energy / Waste to value & Bioenergy value chains, from technology development and fuel supply to generation, storage and distribution.
Canada, with its large landmass, diversified geography and active forest industry, has substantial renewable resources. Canada is one of the world leaders in the production and use of energy from renewable sources -- hydro, wind, solar, biomass -- with significant developments in geothermal and marine energy. Renewables accounted for over 67 percent of Canada’s total electricity generation in 2016. There is increasing interest in better sustainable renewable solutions.
Finnish (Nordic) knowhow in forest management, including harvesting and processing, forest based bioenergy, as well as waste to value expertise is highly recognized in Canada. Business Finland, together with its local consultant partners, Ministry for Foreign Affairs, VTT, LUKE and Finnish companies have been studying, benchmarking, and assisting in the development of the Canadian bioenergy sector.
More than 50 business opportunities have been identified in Ontario, Quebec, and in First Nations territories alone.
