China aims to reach peak emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. Finland aims to be carbon-neutral by 2035 and be the world’s first fossil-free welfare society. Both Chinese and Finnish companies have introduced innovative business solutions that lead the way for a low carbon society.
The Chairmen of the China-Finland Committee for Innovative Business Cooperation, Mr. Risto Siilasmaa, Chairman, F-Secure and Mr. Zhao Changshan, Chairman, Zhongguancun Development Group welcome all, old and new, members to the online event to follow the Chinese-Finnish dialogue on low carbon technologies creating new economic opportunities.
During the state visit to Finland by Chinese President Xi Jinping on April 2017, the Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä and China's Trade Minister Zhong Shan signed a joint declaration to establish a Sino-Finnish Committee for Innovative Business Cooperation with the aim to encourage cooperation between Chinese and Finnish companies.
Leading companies from both countries have been involved in the work of the Committee and its four working groups: Energy, Maritime Logistics, Forestry and Clean Air. The Committee Secretariat comprises of Confederation of Finnish Industries EK, Business Finland and China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products CCCME.
