Business Finland and Consulate General of Finland in Hong Kong & Macao invite you to learn about the opportunities Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area could offer Finnish companies operating in the energy and built environment, smart mobility and green building sector on Monday, 22 November at 9:00-10:30 (Finnish time).

Hong Kong has announced that they are striving to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Therefore the government has drawn up policy directions and measures to reduce carbon emissions in areas like waste management, energy supply, green building and green transport. This shift on governmental level as well as within private sector has created need for sustainable solutions and expertise.
In this webinar you will hear about Hong Kong's plans and actions for the future

Preliminary topics of the online event are

  • Country outlook and ecosystem in Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area
  • Hong Kong’s Climate Action Plan 2050 – opportunities for Finnish companies
    • Energy Savings and Green Buildings (net-zero Electricity Generation)
    • Green Transport and Waste Reduction

Following the online event, Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari will have a virtual ministerial level meeting with Secretary for the Environment of Hong Kong, Mr. Wong Kam-sing on December 7, 2021.

Business Finland is collecting background material and messages from Finnish companies to be taken forward on a ministerial level. We are especially interested in hearing from Finnish companies that are already located in Hong Kong, or are planning to enter the market (Hong Kong or Greater Bay Area). Have you encountered any issues when doing business in the area? You may submit your messages for the Minister via the registration link.

Who should attend?

This online event is aimed for Finnish companies interested in Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area and operating in the bio & circular sector, with focus on smart energy, mobility and smart cities.
