Business Finland together with Technopark ODTU Teknokent invite you to join this webinar on 7 December, 2021 at 13:00 - 14:35 (EET Helsinki) / 14:00 - 15:35 (EEST Istanbul) to learn about digital gaming sector related co-operation opportunities between Finland and Turkey.

Despite the country's political and economic troubles, Turkey's gaming industry continued growing in 2020 as the number of gamers and profits surged both locally and globally during the COVID-19 pandemic. 79% of adults in Turkey play mobile games, while 50.2% of mobile gamers are men and 49.8 percent are women.

In Turkey, there are 35 million mobile, 22 million computer, and 17 million console gamers. Other than the increasing number of Turkish mobile gamers, local game developers have become important global actors in the industry. In 2020, the U.S. social gaming company Zynga acquired Istanbul-based Peak Games for 1.8 billion dollars after buying its card games studio for 100 million USD in 2017.

Similarly, Turkish Rollic Games was acquired by Zynga for 168 million USD in 2020. While Turkey has been struggling to attract investment, dozens of Turkish game developers have managed to attract domestic and international investors, making the Turkish gaming industry the sector with the most investment in 2020.

During the webinar both Finnish and Turkish gaming ecosystems will be analyzed and co-operation possibilities will be elaborated. Join us in this Digital Gaming event to learn more about the possibilities of this sector, potential projects and create direct connections with stakeholders in the local market!
