Day 2 – May 27th 2021   15:00 – 17:00 EET (14:00 – 16:00 CET) Pitching Private Sector Solutions

The first Regional session will be a deep-dive into the needs and challenges of UNOPS when implementing projects in the East and Southern Africa Region on health/technologies for a healthier future, water provision and management, and WASH. By understanding the specific challenges and needs, the companies will gain insights into what kind of opportunities working with UNOPS in the region offers. By understanding on-going and foreseeable projects as well as the needs of the countries in question, the companies get tangible information useful for strategic partnerships or for future tendering processes. Besides UNOPS country office personnel, the companies will get an opportunity to have a dialogue with experts from UNOPS’ partnerships, Global Innovation Centres (GIC) and Sustainable Procurement. Countries included are Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia and Tanzania.

UNOPS is looking for solutions in particular for

  • innovative, low maintenance and environmentally-friendly green power solutions and cooling systems (e.g. cold chain, air conditioning, storage facilities) for healthcare facilities that are appropriate for the local environment
  • solutions for the treatment of medical waste

  • water supply - long/short term solutions in humanitarian/ development context for communities, vulnerable populations, schools etc for households and livelihoods use.

There are a limited number of spots in this session and they will be filled according to appropriate matches. If there are more matches where the solutions/products have the biggest interest and impact than spots offered, the selections are made in order of registrations. A waiting list is offered, if needed.
