In Japan the Market for new biomaterials is particularly interesting at the moment, as the government has started introducing new environmental policies.
In 2019, Japan conducted The Resource Circulation Strategy for Plastics. This strategy includes goals such as a 25% cumulative emission reduction of single-use plastics by 2030 and doubling the bioplastic production by 2030. Consumers are also starting to demand environmental options for other industries such as textiles, where the recycling rate is lacking behind.
We welcome interested Finnish companies to join a business matchmaking with Japanese companies in the biomaterial industry!
For the matchmaking Business Finland will make a combined presentation including the participating Finnish companies’ basic information, product description, contact details and what the company is looking for (importer, partner, R&D, funding etc.). There will then be an open call for Japanese companies interested to join, and a similar presentation of them will be made and shared with the participating Finnish companies. Business Finland and partner organization’s industry experts will match Finnish and Japanese companies and companies can also request meetings with each other.
Finnish companies in the field of new bio materials and chemicals for textiles, compounds, packaging and related solutions that are looking for partnerships, importers or investors in Japan.
Participating companies should have the financial and personal resources needed to pursue business opportunities in Japan. This program has a maximum number of participants (10). After the registration, participants have to submit requested materials by designated deadlines or their place can be given to others on the waiting list. See schedule for deadlines.
Participating in the matchmaking will offer your company free visibility to Japanese companies in Business Finland’s and our partner organization Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation vast business networks. Although business meetings are arranged according to wishes from both sides (meaning we cannot guarantee a certain number of meetings), this a great and free way for your company to gain new potential business contacts in Japan
