Mr. Ville Skinnari, Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, will visit Brazil (Brasília, Belém and São Paulo) with a Team Finland business delegation on 8 - 12 November 2021. The goal of the visit is to foster relations between the two countries, as well as offer an excellent opportunity for Finnish companies in Digitalization and Defense industries to establish high-level business connections with companies in Brazil.
The largest economy by nominal GDP in Latin America and the Caribbean, Brazil alone corresponds to half of Finland’s trade activities in the region. Finland's exports to Brazil have more than doubled in the last two years, and the country offers a growing number of business opportunities for Finnish companies across different industries such as digitalization, bioeconomy, mining, energy and defense. The 5G auction expected in 2021 – the world’s largest yet – will increase demand for digital solutions and drive investments in telecommunications, critical communications, cyber security and various other sectors of the economy. Furthermore, in the future Finnish companies are expected to benefit from the European Union-Mercosur free trade agreement, a historic trade deal reached in June 2019.
Who should attend?
The visit is targeted at Finnish companies operating within Digitalization and Defense focusing on the Latin American Region and with key interests and activities in Brazil. The country is launching public tenders in both the telecommunications and defense sectors and therefore, companies offering concrete services and products for new digital solutions, mission critical communications, integrated border management systems, armored vehicles and C4ISR are welcome to join.
Practicalities
To cover the expenses of arranging the visit, Business Finland will charge a participation fee.
- Micro Businesses and SMEs: EUR 1000 + 24% VAT per person
- Major Companies: EUR 1300 + 24% VAT per person
Business Finland will invoice the participation fee after the visit based on the actual costs. The invoiced fee will not exceed the amounts mentioned above. Kindly note that the participation fee does not include flights or accommodation of the participant nor meals outside the business delegation program.
