Business Finland, in co-operation with the Istanbul-based consultancy company Finnturker A.S., is hosting a webinar followed by pitching sessions for Finnish and Turkish companies where you can learn about the waste-to-energy related opportunities in Turkey. The webinar is organized on 20 October, 2021 at 10:00-11:30 (EEST Helsinki and Istanbul).
As an EU candidate, Turkey is putting efforts towards bringing waste treatment facilities up to EU acquis standards, and the Turkish Ministry for the Environment has initiated the Zero Waste Program to set up a sustainable recycling economy in the country. This requires the infrastructure of a nationwide recycling system to be established in public and private institutions, aiming prevention of waste, efficient utilization of the sources, prevention, or avoiding waste creation by examining the reasons, collection and separation at the source, and recycling.
The webinar participants from the Turkish side will be invited from municipalities, municipal waste management units, companies, investors, independent power producers, energy service companies, state energy institutions, sectoral influencers, project developers and engineering companies, to discuss about waste management solutions. Join us in this Waste-to-Energy event to learn more about the possibilities of this sector, potential projects and create direct connections with stakeholders in the local market! The participants will also have an opportunity to pitch their company offering during the webinar.
Before the webinar, on 18 October, 2021 at 14:00-15:00 (EEST Helsinki), Business Finland Turkey will organize an info session for the Finnish company representatives participating in the webinar to provide more information about the current developments and opportunities in waste management in Turkey.
