The Minister of Economic Affairs, Mr. Mika Lintilä, will visit Oslo, Norway with a Team Finland business delegation on June 14-15, 2022.

The focus of this visit is on battery industry, electrification and ports, and the visit program will include participation at the International Electric Vehicle Symposium & Exhibition (EVS35). The visit is supported by Mr. Mikael Antell, Ambassador of Finland to Norway.

Norway is considered a pioneer in electrification as the prosperous Norwegian state has made a strategic decision to make major investments in electrification and green transition in, for example, offshore wind power, hydrogen, and CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage). Norway has also invested heavily in the electrification of road and domestic sea transportation.

The future objectives of Norway include emission-free construction sites and green battery cell manufacturing. The city of Oslo has an ambitious climate strategy, as they aim to reduce climate emissions by 95% by 2030. Electrification plays a significant role in the city's port, transportation, and construction sites.

EVS35 – the World's Largest EV event this year – offers an international lookout for key topics and the latest news from the e-mobility and battery industries. At the exhibition the Finnish companies will have an opportunity for networking with other Nordic and international companies, and the visit aims to support and intensify the Nordic co-operation.

Who should attend?

This 2-day onsite visit is aimed for Finnish companies, organizations and representatives of ports whose focus is on the battery industry, smart mobility, electrification, port technology and operation.
