Business Finland has commissioned a market study on German New Space Economy market. The information package was prepared by the German consulting company SpaceTec Partners.
On Monday February 11th a group of 20 Finnish companies attended a Business Finland event where Rainer Horn of SpaceTec Partners presented the results of the New Space Economy – Market Study Germany. In addition, Bärbel Deisting from the Bavairia cluster introduced the possibilities for co-operation with the cluster.
All the presentations from the event can be found at the end of this article.
The companies had the opportunity to discuss follow-up actions concerning Germany, and how Business Finland's New Space Economy program can support these actions. In the afternoon the program continued with company specific clinic sessions with the available experts.
Even if the traditional space industry in Germany is very developed, the New Space Economy is a new phenomenon also for the German companies in this sector. There are numerous New Space companies in Germany and companies in other sectors paying more and more attention to developing new space based services. For example Viessmann has invested through its VC fund into a startup, which develops affordable launch services. Deutsche Bahn has invested into a Canadian startup that provides satellite-based goods logistics services. SAP is co-operating with ESA’s Sentinel satellite data, which is analyzed and processed by SAP.
