AI compiles English-speaking vacancies on the Jobs in Finland website and facilitates international recruitment

Talent Boost's cooperation with digital recruitment service Monster improves employers' visibility and increases the number of jobs available on the website.

Business Finland's nationwide jobsinfinland.fi job portal enables more connections between companies and the international experts living in Finland and English-speaking talents interested in coming to Finland. Launched in Fall 2020 following discussions with the Ministry of Employment and the Economy, the project is inspired by Turku Science Park's pilot scheme, which utilizes AI for local recruitment.

"This is the first time that the vacancies for English speaking jobs in Finland are compiled in one place from as many sources as possible. The collaboration with Turku Science Park, TE Employment Service, technology supplier Silo AI and the job search websites has worked well," says Vilma Vainikainen, Digital Product Owner at Business Finland's Work in Finland unit.

The unique artificial intelligence solution developed by Silo AI retrieves information about the English speaking jobs published by Monster, The Hub and TE Employment Service, and categorizes them on the Jobs in Finland website. Companies operating in Finland can also post information about their English speaking job vacancies directly to the website free of charge.

Cooperation with Monster boosts recruitment opportunities

Jobs in Finland is a content aggregator website where jobseekers can search for a job by industry or location. When the jobseeker clicks on an interesting job, they are directed to the job search website or the website of the employer where the vacancy has been advertised. The cooperation with Monster has already increased the range of jobs available.

"The number of views for English-speaking jobs has had positive growth since our cooperation started. Also the number of applicants for these open positions has increased", says Jesse Huusari, product owner from Monster.

Great potential for attracting more jobseekers

In 2022, the website's user interface will be developed to serve the different target groups better. The service is ideal for international professionals searching for a job in Finland and those already living in Finland who are looking for employment in their field. The site currently attracts about 10,000 visitors per week, increasing when the site is featured in an international campaign, for example.

"In the future, we can focus the site marketing more accurately and strategically, for example, to specific countries, and also reach different target groups, such as experts or professionals. The growth potential in the number of visitors looks very promising," says Vainikainen.

A company that recruits an international expert for tasks that help the business to internationalize can also utilize Business Finland's Talent Explorer funding, which covers half of the employee's salary costs up to € 20,000 per year. The grant is non-repayable and can be applied for three projects during the different stages of the company's internationalization.
