Finland welcomes Europe’s healthcare leaders to HIMSS22 European Health Conference & Exhibition in Helsinki, Finland, on 14-16 June. The Finnish Pavilion hosts a stage program that allows Finnish innovations and knowhow on digital health and health data to shine by sharing inspiring stories.
HIMSS22 Europe, Europe’s most influential event for digital health is a joint effort between HIMSS and Finnish partners. The event brings together experts in healthcare, health tech innovations and pioneers around the globe to Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre (Messukeskus) to learn and connect over the extensive program with over 120 expert sessions.
Finland’s input in the event exceeds expectations, as a combination of public and private organizations from Finland have joined forces to bring forward Finnish know-how on digital health and health data as well as agetech and active aging. Business Finland, the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, and the City of Helsinki are the main partners. In addition, several ministries, organisations and cities are supporting the event. Finland is famous for innovative startup scene, and this is true also to Finland Pavilion, where health startups can showcase their innovations.
The Finnish Pavilion exhibition area, with its dozens of companies stands, is a showcase of Finnish expertise in digital health for the international audience.
The Finnish Pavilion stage program runs nonstop throughout the conference and centers around four major themes. The most significant one is health data and how that data can reshape clinical practices.
One of the speakers in the health data theme, Dr. Antti Iivanainen, Development Director, Oy Apotti Ab, says: “To care for the individual, we must care for the population. The nut to crack is how we manage systemic effectiveness or ineffectiveness. It is a common misunderstanding that this is a question of money but even more than that, it is about the data: the availability, quality and interoperability of data.”
On stage with Dr. Iivanainen are Finnish companies like Reaktor, BeeHealthy, Terveystalo, BCB Medical, Predicell and Duodecim, sharing their examples of applying health data to solve real-life problems.
In addition to health data and its applications, the Finnish Pavilion program sheds a light on active and healthy ageing and tools to promote it as well as on how the world’s smartest hospitals are built and made pandemic-safe in the future as well. The AgeTech theme is widely presented at the Business Finland’s booth within Finland Pavilion, where subject matter experts can be met throughout the conference.
“Finland is globally acknowledged, a truly innovative location for co-development of AgeTech solutions, such as digitally assisted technologies, products and services that are designed to improve the lives or care of the ageing population. These innovations have possibility to change the elderly care and help people to stay home longer in the future”, says Kari Klossner, Head of Smart Life Finland Program at Business Finland.
