Finland is the home to some of the most known names in design such as Alvar Aalto, Eliel Saarinen, Artek, Iittala and Marimekko. Today, many contemporary brands and designers continue to add to the story of Finnish design.

In September, Helsinki Design Week (HDW) made the Finnish capital the place to be for all design-lovers as it filled it with events and exhibitions exploring the most exciting trends and designers right now.

Finnfacts/Business Finland and Messukeskus Helsinki, Expo and Convention Centre invited 16 international design journalists including titles such as Elle Décor Japan and Financial Times to explore the buzz and pick their favorites.

The highlights of the program was Finland's largest furniture, design and decoration event Habitare, which is organized as a part of HDW but the journalists also explored other top picks around the city and visited some of the most interesting Finnish designers, companies and architectural sights right now.
