Opportunities for the Finnish Defence Industry in the United Kingdom

Business Finland’s Defence and Digital Resilience program, together with the Embassy of Finland in London and PA Consulting, is organising a webinar to present current and emerging opportunities and give an overview of the UK procurement process for the Finnish defence industry in the United Kingdom. 

The UK remains one of Europe’s largest defence markets, with sustained investment driven by evolving security demands, modernisation needs, and the country’s ambition to strengthen its industrial base and international partnerships. The UK’s Strategic Defence Review 2025 has emphasised rapid capability development, resilience, and innovation, creating openings for companies with advanced technologies, niche expertise, and strong collaborative potential. 

The UK is investing heavily in areas such as digitalisation, cyber security, advanced sensing, autonomy, and next generation platforms. Procurement reforms and a renewed focus on supply chain resilience are also shaping how the Ministry of Defence engages with industry, including SMEs and international partners. Understanding the UK’s defence landscape, procurement structures, and industrial priorities is essential for Finnish companies seeking to enter or expand in this market.
