The Japanese government has positioned economic security and a science and technology-based nation as pillars of national policy. Quantum technology, among other areas, is positioned as a critical strategic area that will determine the nation's fate. Administration of Prime Minister Takaichi emphasizes "building a strong technological sphere in collaboration with trusted countries" rather than "holding technology internally."
For Finnish companies, Japan is not simply an "export destination" but a "joint development partner with advanced manufacturing technology" and a "priority market with the potential to utilize a stable and large government budget." Especially from 2026 onward, Japan-Europe quantum and space cooperation is expected to enter a new phase in the context of economic security.
This webinar will explain the latest developments in Japan's quantum strategy, present market opportunities for Finnish companies, and offer strategic advice for entering and expanding into the Japanese market.
