A New Era of Collaboration
Japan and Finland share over 100 years of friendship and cooperation, based on common values such as freedom, democracy, and the rule of law. The 2016 Joint Statement on the Strategic Partnership laid the foundation for collaboration, which was further strengthened during President Alexander Stubb’s visit to Japan in June 2025, when the Joint Statement on Reinforced Cooperation in the Future was announced, highlighting deeper cooperation in economy, security, and cutting-edge technologies.
The Japanese delegation includes senior executives from around 30 companies and public institutions, ranging from major manufacturers to startups in aerospace, space, drones, cybersecurity, quantum computing, and finance. They are visiting Finland to explore partnerships and business opportunities.
The forum is aimed at Finnish companies in deep tech and dual-use sectors, particularly in aerospace, drones, space, IT (cybersecurity, AI, quantum), electronics (sensors, batteries), materials (metals, composites), and data-driven solutions.
