We warmly invite you to an interactive and forward-looking workshop, where we will co-create insights on how innovation-driven approaches and technologies can uncover new business opportunities in the hydrogen economy.

This session builds on the idea that a strong manufacturer can act as a catalyst for developing a wider business ecosystem with related technologies and solutions. There is a clear opportunity to leverage potential technologies from other industries – such as digitalisation, automation, materials science, or energy storage – to create synergies that enhance the competitiveness of the hydrogen value chain.

By inviting cross-industry innovation, we broaden the scope for breakthroughs and accelerate the creation of a robust ecosystem. Importantly, this model is designed to support SMEs’ active participation in the value chain, ensuring that the ecosystem is both comprehensive and globally competitive.
By working together, we can validate the feasibility of the concept, strengthen Finland’s position, and accelerate the transition toward global decarbonisation leadership.

Workshop Agenda

  • Workshop start, introduction and grouping
  • Presentation of the key results and main conclusions of the previous workshops
  • Presentation: Net Zero Energy Ecosystem (NZEE) project
  • Group work 1 – Identifying potential technology opportunities in the hydrogen economy value chain: what kind of existing technologies and providers are recognised, also from other industries? (gathering and mining views)
  • Coffee break
  • Group work 2 – Constructing a potential–feasibility matrix of technology opportunities: what is the growth potential and, on the other hand, the ease of implementation of different opportunities? (assessment and evaluation)
  • Group work 3 – Matrix presentations and discussions: what similarities, complementarities and differences exist between groups’ findings? (prioritisation and comparison)
  • Summary and next steps
