We would like to invite you to participate in the Procurement Information Roundtables that take place in Helsinki on Tuesday, October 7, between 9:30-15:00. In the afternoon there is opportunity to attend thematic roundtable sessions including 1) Ukraine – Recovery and Reconstruction, 2) Subcontracting and 3) Consulting and Institutions roundtable or request one to one meetings.
The World Bank finances investment projects with a portfolio that covers over 1 500 investment projects across the globe and an active net commitment of 250 billion US dollars. For these projects to succeed, the governments that borrow from the World Bank require access to a broad range of the good quality suppliers providing the works, goods, services, and specialized consulting services.
The World Bank has current program for encouraging the suppliers to be involved in bidding for Bank-funded opportunities. There are opportunities in various sectors like digitalization, climate and natural resources, transport and infrastructure, education etc.
During this World Bank event procurement team will discuss key changes made in its Procurement Regulations with intention to attract increased participation from high quality global suppliers. Those include minimum quality weighting, requirement for Early Market Engagement, consolidation contracts into larger packages and offer direct payment. The World Bank’s outreach includes activities like Procurement Information Roundtable for potential suppliers. The session will provide information about how to access Bank-funded opportunities and upcoming pipeline of large World Bank projects. This event is ideal for those directly involved in preparations and decisions to bidding to procurement opportunities. Invited companies include suppliers who have previously worked on World Bank-funded projects as well as those who have not yet been involved but would like to know more.
