In New York City, buildings account for approximately two-thirds of greenhouse gas emissions. America’s largest city is committed to transforming its existing skyline into high performance low carbon buildings.
With the passage of New York’s Climate Mobilization Act’s (CMA) Local Law 97 (LL97), in April, 2019, to curb carbon emissions, the city is eager to adopt low-carbon built environment solutions. Finland’s stronghold in energy efficiency, low carbon materials, and digital infrastructure makes this an optimal time to explore the New York City market.
In May of this year, Team Finland network conducted its first low carbon built environment trade mission to the city of Los Angeles, resulting in several success cases. On 12-14 September, 2023 Business Finland will arrange a trade mission to New York City. This upcoming trade mission will meet with some of the most innovative architecture, engineering, construction, and real estate firms in Manhattan. The program will also include an exclusive opportunity to engage with the developers of the new climate center on Governors Island.
The visit is aimed for Finnish companies that have export solutions for low-carbon built environment and want to pursue New York as a strategic market or partner. The participating companies should have products/solutions/services for

Business Finland will invoice the participation fee after the visit based on the actual costs. The invoiced fee will not exceed the amounts mentioned above.
