Business Finland is organizing a Shipbuilding Trade Mission to Galicia, Spain on 22-25 October 2024. This visit presents a unique opportunity for Finnish companies to get to know the shipbuilding sector in Spain as well as an exclusive look into Spain’s plans to modernize and diversify its naval industry through cutting edge technologies and sustainable practices. Furthermore, this trade mission will unlock new opportunities to get to know relevant stakeholders such as shipyards and key companies in the ecosystem.

Spain, a distinguished naval exporter, is strategically expanding its shipbuilding sector to include specialized vessels such as patrol boats, fishing boats, tugboats, and oceanographic ships, reinforced by its important role in Europe's offshore wind energy supply chain. This shift is part of the Spanish government's PERTE initiative, which is investing €1.46 billion to promote innovation, digitalization, and sustainable practices aiming for a 9% annual growth.

This trade mission will include visits to leading Spanish shipyards, participation in ecosystem events, as well as networking opportunities to foster future collaboration.
