Exploring New Cooperations with Taiwan in ICT, Semiconductor & Quantum Technologies

When: 5 June, 2025
Where:Team Finland House, Porkkalankatu 1, Helsinki
Time: 08:45 – 13:15

Join us on June 5, 2025, at Team Finland House, Porkkalankatu 1, Helsinki, for an event co-organized by Business Finland and the Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA). This forum will explore new cooperations with Taiwan in ICT, Semiconductor, and Quantum Technologies.

The Taiwanese delegation, representing some of Taiwan’s most influential stakeholders in these fields, aims to gain insights into Finland's latest developments and explore opportunities for business, research, and academic collaborations with Finnish stakeholders. The Taiwanese delegation represents some of Taiwan’s most influential stakeholders in ICT, Semiconductor and Quantum Technologies, including the biggest telecom operator, major Taiwanese ODMs, high-tech firms and research institutes. Their primary objective is to gain insights into Finland's latest developments in these domains and explore opportunities for business, research, and academic collaborations with Finnish stakeholders.

Taiwan’s Strengths and Synergies with Finland
Taiwan has long served as a global hub for the manufacturing of notebooks, tablets, servers, and ICT-related products, holding a leading position in OEM/ODM production. Taiwan boasts a complete ICT ecosystem, covering key components like semiconductors, PCBs, memory, and displays, all the way to end-product assembly. Also, Taiwan is investing in next-generation technologies like 5G/6G, LEO satellite, and free-space optical (FSO) communications.

Taiwan is well-known as a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing, producing over 60% of the world’s chips and more than 90% of advanced ones. This technical edge is supported by an integrated ecosystem spanning chip design, materials, equipment, and testing.

In quantum technologies, Taiwan is accelerating investments through its National Quantum Program, which supports the development of quantum computing hardware, software, communications, and applications. Over the past two years, Taiwan and Finland have established significant collaborations in this field and both sides wish to expand the cooperations.

Finland is internationally recognized for its excellence in these topics, including advanced research in 5G/6G technologies as well as the strong and comprehensive ecosystem of quantum technologies. The delegation and the business forum offer Finnish companies, and research institutes a valuable chance to establish connections, exchange knowledge, and pursue collaborations in business and research with Taiwan.

This event is intended for Finnish companies, research institutes and relevant stakeholders interested in exploring cooperation with Taiwan in ICT, Semiconductor, and Quantum Technologies. Please note that the organizers reserve the right to review registrations and decline participation when necessary, especially in cases where attendance may not align with the objectives of the event.
