Business Finland is organizing a Trade Mission to Hong Kong on 10-12 September 2025 targeted for Finnish life science companies. This visit is arranged coinciding with BIOHK2025.

This trade mission focuses on three critical areas:

  • Investment Engagement: Direct connections with investors from Hong Kong and Mainland China
  • Innovation & Incubation: Leveraging new funding schemes for international companies
  • Clinical Trials & Data Access: Exploring pathways to access patient data for clinical development

Preliminary program

Why Hong Kong?

  • Asia's Premier Biotech Hub: Hong Kong is a leading fundraising hub in Asia, supported by the government’s strategic HKD 10 billion investment in life and health technologies.
  • New HKD 200 Million Incubation Fund: Recently approved legislation offers significant funding opportunities. We will explore how Finnish companies can benefit through collaboration with the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP).
  • Gateway to Clinical Data & Trials: Hong Kong's Health Bureau has established a Clinical Research Lab to support trials. We are actively engaging with senior officials on accessing patient data from Mainland China via Hong Kong—a key work-in-progress initiative.
  • Synergy with Major Events: Activities are aligned with BIOHK2025 to maximize visibility and engagement with regional stakeholders.

Who Should Attend?

This visit is aimed for Finnish life science companies looking for:

  • Investment from Asian capital sources
  • Strategic Partnerships for product development & market access
  • Access to patient data
