The Green Day concept exports plant-based foods to the world market

The first Green Day event supporting the export of plant-based products under the Food from Finland program was held in Paris in March 2022. Green Day buffet presented Finnish plant-based dishes created by Chef Jouni Törmänen.

Finnish high-quality, innovative, clean, and safe products deserve their own slice of the plant-based market cake. The Green Day concept helps companies to launch cooperation faster, as the sales of plant-based products around the world are growing rapidly.

The Food from Finland program has developed a Green Day concept that supports the export of Finnish plant-based products. The concept includes market coaching and a shop tour for plant-based products in the target markets, and a buyers and media event, in which companies can present their products to invited buyers.

"The first Green Day event was held in Paris in March. 18 companies participated from Finland. The morning seminar contained a presentation of the markets and strengths of France and Finland, a buffet lunch featuring the products of the participating companies, and a networking afternoon, in which the companies presented their products," says Annaleena Soult from Business Finland, the director of the Green Day concept.

The event in Paris was attended by usually reluctant buyers, such as Carrefour and several other leading French retail chains, as well as catering and industrial buyers. Read more about Green Day concept and first outcomes from Annaleena Soult's blog.

The next Green Day event will take place in September 25-29 in the United States. At the turn of October and November, the event will be held in Japan and South Korea.
