KONE is launching the Renaissance project, a Leading company initiative aimed at transforming urban renewal through digital and sustainable retrofit solutions. Business Finland has granted leading company (Veturi) funding to launch the project.
“The real estate and construction sector needs a leading company to accelerate the pace of change in the industry. As a global player, KONE Oyj is well-positioned to act as the driver of the envisioned renovation ecosystem,” says Ecosystem Manager Virpi Mikkonen from Business Finland.
The program, co-funded by Business Finland, will focus on reviving existing buildings for low emission living and working by 2030. It will create a digital and sustainable ecosystem hub, bringing together key industry stakeholders to drive new innovations and business models.
"The Renaissance project is launching at a pivotal moment, with increasing demand for digital and AI-driven solutions in built environment. It aligns with KONE's Rise strategy by accelerating digital, driving modernization, winning residential, and cutting carbon. KONE will drive R&D of innovative solutions and business models globally for both its own solutions and the ecosystem," says CTO Tomio Pihkala.
