Call for submissions for joint projects in 6G between Finland and South Korea

Business Finland and IITP (Institute for Information Communication Technology Planning and Evaluation) are organizing a call for submissions for joint projects in 6G between Finland and South Korea.

As part of the ongoing open call for submissions of 6G Bridge Program, Business Finland and IITP (Institute for Information Communication Technology Planning and Evaluation) from South Korea are organising a call for submissions for joint projects in 6G between Finland and South Korea regarding the following two project concepts:

  1. Development of AI-based Zero-Touch O-RAN Technology (pdf)
  2. Development of AI-based Open 6G NTN RAN Technology (pdf)
  3. Timeline and evaluation process (pdf)

The joint projects will run from July 2026 until the end of 2028 (30 months) and the joint project fundings (separately in both countries) are expected to be on the level of 600,000 (Project concept 1) – 700,000 (Project concept 2) euros per project in South Korea – the Finnish side funding requests should be in the same order. The application is on Korean side open to any organizations and on the Finnish side for individual companies and research organizations (with at least 3 companies supporting financially).

Schedule:

  1. Mid-January 2026: Call for submissions opens
  2. Mid-April 2026: Deadline for submissions
  3. April-June 2026: Project evaluation
  4. June 2026: Decisions
  5. July 2026: Projects start
