President Stubb grants internationalisation awards to Orion, Sensofusion, Sandvik and Finnish Startup Community
The President of the Republic has granted the annual internationalisation awards to three companies and one community. Orion Corporation won the 2025 Growth Company Award. The Newcomer Company Award went to Sensofusion, and Sandvik Mining and Construction was recognised as the Long-term International Investor. The year’s Community Award was granted to the Finnish Startup Community.

Investment aid granted for five major clean transition industrial projects
As part of the economic policy measures introduced by Prime Minister Petteri Orpo's government, Business Finland opened a funding call in January 2025 for investment aid targeting large-scale industrial projects aligned with the clean transition. Now, the first funding decisions have been made, and investment aid has been granted to five projects.

Finnish health businesses seek new market in Japan
Business Finland is holding a comprehensive presentation of Finland’s health sector during Japan’s World Expo in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. Japan faces challenges like a low birth rate, an ageing population and labor shortages in the care sector, which are an opportunity for Finnish skills exports. In 2024, health exports to Japan stood at to €67 million.

Business Finland grants exceptionally large funding – ICEYE scales operations and investments in R&D with EUR 250 million
Business Finland has granted one of the largest individual fundings in its history to ICEYE, the Finnish space and defense technology company. The funding, totaling over EUR 41 million, will significantly accelerate the company’s product development efforts and strengthen Finland’s position as a leading European country in space technology.

New Leading Company Sumitomo SHI FW aims to enhance Finland's energy security
Business Finland has awarded €10 million funding to Sumitomo SHI FW Energia Oy’s (SFW) Leading Company (Veturi) project. The Net Zero Energy Ecosystem (NZEE) project focuses on developing integrated carbon emission reduction solutions to help achieve climate goals and enhance energy security by 2050. During the project, SFW will invest €50 million in its RDI activities in Finland.

Nokia’s Veturi Project strengthened the position of Finnish companies as pioneers in edge computing
Nokia today announced the results of its Competitive Edge Leading Company (Veturi) project funded by Business Finland through the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), an EU program designed to support countries with their green and digital transitions. The project has strengthened Finland’s position in edge computing and driving innovation.
