The Turkish maritime ecosystem is highly developed, boasting numerous players dedicated to servicing the varied needs of shipowners, shipbuilders, and ports.
Türkiye is regarded as a shipyard country with 85 shipyards having a project capacity of 4.77 million DWT p.a. Turkish shipyards are specialized in making chemical tankers, dry cargo, and bulk carriers up to 30,000 DWT, as well as container ships up to 2,000 TEU. Turkish shipyards also gained recognition for producing technologically advanced and environmentally friendly vessels. In the year 2023, a total of 84 orders were placed with Turkish shipyards.
