Suomi.fi Authorization for Applying Business Finland Funding

What do you need the authorization for?

You need service authorizations when you start preparing a company's funding application in the funding service. No authorization is required for project reporting or submitting change notifications.

You need Suomi.fi authorization for the following funding services:

• Exhibition Explorer
• Market Explorer 
• Tempo  
• Accelerators and preparation for international projects
• Research, development, and piloting
• Co-Innovation, company participant  
• Young innovative companies
• Deeptech Accelerator funding
• Innovation aid for shipbuilding

Log in to the funding online service with personal bank credentials, a certificate card, or a mobile certificate via the Suomi.fi identification service. During the Suomi.fi login, our service will check your role in the company you represent.

Funding can be applied for by:

1. A company officer registered in the Trade Register who has the right to represent the company alone. In this case, you can use the service without separate authorizations. The authorized person has the right to see all information related to the company in the service.
2.  Persons who have been given Suomi.fi authorization. Suomi.fi authorization grants the right only to handle matters related to the project obtained with the authorization. The authorized person cannot see other information about the company (ongoing projects or applications under processing) in the service.

What authorization is used?

The service authorization used in the funding service is “Applying for Corporate Financing”.

What does the authorization entitle you to?

The authorization entitles you only to create a new application, manage the access rights of the opened application, prepare and submit the application. The company's responsible person (a person in charge is a person who works for or holds a responsible position in the applicant organization and who can make project-related decisions and is responsible for implementation of the project) and the contact person (who liaise communication with Business Finland) are appointed separately in the application as before.

The preparation right remains for the lifecycle of the funded project, allowing the authorized person to prepare the reports needed for project monitoring, but not to submit them.

Instructions for granting and applying for authorization

You can grant or request authorizations in the Suomi.fi authorization service.

How to grant authorization

When you want to grant organizational authorizations in Suomi.fi authorizations, follow these steps:

1. Identify yourself in Suomi.fi authorizations
2. Select ”Company authorizations” at the service role
3. Select the organization on whose behalf you want to grant the authorization
4. Select "Grant authorizations"
5. Add the authorization matter ”Applying for corporate financing”
6. Define the validity period
7. Confirm the authorization

How to request authorization as a person

When you want to request organizational authorizations in Suomi.fi authorizations, do this:

1. Identify yourself in Suomi.fi authorizations
2. Select ”Personal authorizations” at the service role
3. Select ”Request authorizations”
4. Add the company on whose behalf you intend to act (you need the business ID)
5. Add the authorization matter ”Applying for corporate financing”
6. Define the validity period
7. Confirm the authorization request

When you send an authorization request/grant authorization, it is transferred to the recipient for approval in Suomi.fi authorizations.

• If the recipient of the authorization request has enabled Suomi.fi messages, a notification of the new authorization request will be sent to Suomi.fi messages.
• If the recipient of the authorization request has not enabled Suomi.fi messages, you must notify the recipient of the authorization request yourself.

If you have enabled Suomi.fi messages, you will receive a notification when the recipient has confirmed the requested authorizations.

Business Finland does not use Suomi.fi messages to send official mail

When you log in to Suomi.fi, you will automatically receive a suggestion to enable Suomi.fi messages. This will not affect your ability to receive official mail from Business Finland, as we do not use Suomi.fi messages.
