Eureka is the world’s biggest public network for international cooperation in R&D and innovation, present in 47 countries. This call is part of initiatives of Cities working group of the Earth Global Climate Tech Alliance E5.
The E5 Alliance was formed by leading innovation agencies in Austria, Sweden, Finland, Singapore, and Israel to drive progress in climate-tech. Its core goal is to accelerate the creation and adoption of technologies that address climate change. This is achieved through international collaboration, knowledge sharing, and coordinated strategies. This call on Sustainable Cities Technologies is open to the E5 Alliance countries.

Collaborative international R&D and technology development projects can help countries/cities address green transition challenges and needs as countries/cities work towards building nature-positive cities. Relevant industry sectors include:
Business Finland represents the Eureka network in Finland, and Finnish participants in project consortia may apply for funding from Business Finland.
In this call Business Finland may fund individual Finnish companies and institutions as well as groups of Finnish companies participating in the joint international project. Your R&D project must include at least two organisations/companies based in at least two of the countries with funding for this Network projects call for projects. Research organizations may also be funded, provided that Finnish companies participate in the same project consortium.
Individual companies apply for R&D funding (instructions for small and midcap-companies and large companies). Funding for groups of Finnish companies and for joint participation of Finnish companies and Finnish research organizations in the international consortia is applied as Co-Innovation funding.
The call has an open budget, and the applications compete for funding with other applications. The Finnish applicants need to file their national funding applications using the Business Finland Online Service 22 January 2026 at the latest, i.e. simultaneously with the closing of the international call. The application needs to be followed by a joint project plan for the whole consortium. The online service utilizes Suomi.fi authorization when applying for funding, please read the instructions.
