Business Finland together with the Embassy of Finland in Italy will organize a trade mission to Lombardy and Piedmont in Italy on November 27-29, 2023. The visit will give Finnish companies offering products and services for smart manufacturing an opportunity to meet potential customers and business partners as well as to explore related business opportunities and gain valuable information on the market.
The program consists of meetings with companies and their production facilities in the automotive, aviation and defense industries. Pharmaceutical and dairy industries are taken into account where possible. Additionally, the delegation will visit the World Manufacturing Forum.
The growth of Italian industrial production and industrial demand will to grow by 3-4% this year. Investment subsidies and tax breaks for automation and robotization of industrial manufacturing are key drivers of this growth. With GDP per capita about 35% higher than the European average, Lombardy represents one fifth of the national economy.
It is also the leading region in the Italian economy as measured by total production and exports. Also, manufacturing industries in Piedmont region, bordering France and Switzerland, has shown a constant growth. Over 40% of industrial production in the region are for exports and the investment to R&D is number 1 in Italy. The main industries in the region are automotive, aerospace and defense.

Participation fee
To cover the expenses of arranging the visit, Business Finland will charge a participation fee.
- Major companies: 1200 + 24% VAT per person
- Minor businesses and SMEs: 1020 + 24% VAT per person.
Business Finland will invoice the participation fee after the visit based on the actual costs. The invoiced fee will not exceed the amounts mentioned above. Kindly note that the participation fee does not include flights or accommodation of the participant nor meals outside the business delegation program.
