Business Finland together with Embassy of Finland in Bangkok are organizing AgeTech Trade Mission to Thailand on 28-30 November, 2023.

Thailand is among the fastest aging societies in the world – 20% of its nearly 70 million population are now over 60 years old, and in little over 10 years time this is expected to reach 30%. In addition Thailand is regarded one of the world’s leading hubs for medical tourism, as well as one of the favorite destination for foreign retirees. In pre-pandemic time there were more than 4 million medical tourists coming to Thailand to visit her world class hospitals, and now we are soon reaching and surpassing these figures.

Thailand has extremely strong private sector, competing with their world class hospitals and ‘world’s leading specialty clinics’. As an example Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS) with its 50+ hospitals in Thailand, is regarded among the 4 largest hospital groups in the world by market capitalization value. As a new trend these private medical/health care providers are starting to link with leading hotel chains to offer wellness services for tourists.

Thai public sector can also offer interesting opportunities for Finnish solutions, especially leading University Hospitals, with their medical innovation and geriatric excellence centers, as well as various pilot projects for senior care services. Soon to be open ACAI (ASEAN Center for Active Aging and Innovation) Center at Public Health Ministry compound could also offer interesting collaboration opportunities.

In addition Thailand’s start-up ecosystem especially in digital health sector is very vibrant, and interested to have foreign collaborators.

If you are seeking opportunities for speeches, face to face meetings, or networking, this visit is for you. Potential cooperation areas in Senior sector and e.g. digitally supported wellbeing are the high interest topics for Thailand and Finland.

Who should attend?

This onsite visit is for the Finnish companies offering services, products and innovations especially for the senior sector. Companies with AgeTech solutions and services for Private – Public partnership and research could benefit of this visit.
