Business Finland Trade Mission to visit shipyards in the United States and Canada

11-16 June 2023 (USA)
19-20 June 2023 (CANADA)

Business Finland is organizing a trade mission to the United States (June 11-16) and Canada (June 19-20). In the US, the aim of the trade mission is to visit selected shipyard locations: Mississippi, Louisiana, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin and meet with the US Coast Guard in Washington DC. In Canada, the aim is to visit the shipyards in Quebec (Quebec City) and in British Columbia (Vancouver). These shipyards are building ice-going, offshore wind, passenger, commercial or navy vessels.

The shipyards to be visited have been selected based on their vessel types, current and upcoming projects, clientele, activity level, size and orderbooks. The shipyards building icebreakers or ice-going vessels, offshore wind vessels, passenger ships, river cruise ships and naval surface vessels are prioritized.

The delegation will meet with the management and decision makers, technical buyers, and design departments of the shipyards. Goal of the meetings will be to learn about current and upcoming vessel projects, local content requirements, national grants, and programs, as well as present Finnish companies’ products, services and solutions to the technical teams of the shipyards.

Please read more about the market opportunities within the maritime and ports – sectors in the USA.
