The Team Finland China network is organizing a business delegation visit to Jiangsu Province (Nanjing and Suzhou) on 26-27 June 2024, led by Ms. Anu Vuori, Consul General of Finland in Shanghai. The focus sectors of this visit are Energy, Industrial Digitalization, Maritime, Sustainable Packaging, and IVDs, medtech and digital health targeting pharma and biotech companies.
Jiangsu Province, located in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, is one of the provinces with the highest level of economic development in China. The province has been at the forefront of China's carbon reduction transition and industrial development. Local industries are among the highest quality in China and have a demand for smart and sustainable solutions.
Jiangsu, with the largest number of new energy companies in China, is one of the major energy markets for Finnish companies. Jiangsu province is actively seeking energy solutions in clean and smart district heating, energy conservation, biomass to values, smart grid, distributed energy production, and more.
Jiangsu Province is vigorously promoting the development of telecommunication network, big data, smart manufacturing and smart city in recent years. The total scale of ICT industry of Jiangsu Province has ranked the top level in China, especially in the field of 5G, industrial internet, internet of vehicle, smart city, smart health, smart transportation and smart environmental protection.
Jiangsu is the largest shipbuilding province in China. In 2023, Jiangsu Province ranked as top one in three major indexes: shipbuilding completion, new orders and orderbooks in China.
Further, Jiangsu's biomedical output value has maintained first place in China, accounting for about one-sixth of the country's total. The province has a strong cluster of pharma, biomedicine, biotech, and IVDs companies. And it also claims to one of the largest hub for raising capital investment. The program in Jiangsu will include sectorial matchmaking seminars and visits with leading industry parks and local stakeholders. During this visit, Business Finland and Jiangsu Department of Commerce will organize a cross industry matchmaking event on 27 June 2024, in which Mr. Wille Rydman, Minister of Economic Affairs will participate.
Further to this Team Finland visit to Jiangsu, Minister Rydman will make a visit to Beijing (25-26 June) and to Shanghai (28 June) during the same week. Read more information regarding the visit.
Who should attend?
Finnish companies interested in the Chinese market and wanting to enter the market, or Finnish companies already operating in the Chinese market and wanting to expand the operations. Finnish companies should have their focus on Energy, Industrial Digitalization, Maritime, Sustainable Packaging, and IVDs, medtech and digital health targeting pharma and biotech companies.
Practicalities
To cover the expenses of arranging the visit to Jiangsu, China during 26-27 June 2024, Business Finland will charge a participation fee.
- Micro businesses and SMEs: EUR 595 + VAT per person
- Major companies: EUR 700 + VAT per person
Business Finland will invoice the participation fee after the visit based on the actual costs. The invoiced fee will not exceed the amounts mentioned above. Kindly note that the participation fee does not include flights or accommodation for the participant nor meals outside the business delegation program.
