Business Finland invites Finnish companies and stakeholders to participate in an exclusive trade mission to Houston, the energy capital of the world, from 6–10 October, 2025. This visit offers a rare opportunity to explore one of the fastest-growing and most ambitious hydrogen markets globally, connect with leading players across the value chain, and uncover strategic business and collaboration opportunities.

Why Houston?

Houston is rapidly positioning itself as the U.S. leader in hydrogen, thanks to world-class infrastructure, key industry players, and strong public support.

  • Produces ~3.5M metric tons of hydrogen annually—over 1/3 of the U.S. total
  • Hosts the world’s longest hydrogen pipeline network (1,000+ miles)
  • Contains half of global operational hydrogen storage caverns
  • Designated a U.S. DOE Hydrogen Hub with $1B+ in potential federal funding
  • Backed by strong local support from government, academia, and industry

Preliminary prorgam

Major Regional Developments:

  • ExxonMobil plans one of the world’s largest blue hydrogen plants in Baytown: 1B cf/day, 98% carbon capture
  • John Cockerill (Belgium) is building a 1 GW/year electrolyzer factory in Baytown
  • Texas leads in wind power and ranks second in battery storage—key for green hydrogen
  • Traditional energy firms are shifting to clean power, partnering directly with energy-intensive users like data centers

Who Should attend?

This mission is aimed to companies and stakeholders who have been planning to open dialogue and create contacts to US hydrogen market and especially Texas.

One of the major aims is to meet and discuss with relevant companies and other entities and hence evaluate market realities for long term decisions on market entry.

Why Now?

With major federal and state investments on the horizon and a clear industry shift toward clean energy, Houston presents an unparalleled opportunity to grow your presence in the global hydrogen economy.

Join us in Houston and position your company or stakeholder at the cutting edge of this transformative energy transition!
