The deadline for applications is October 31th. Business Finland will make recommendations for the best candidates and the universities will select companies among the applicants and match them with one group of MBA students.

The duration of the program is 4-6 months and the cost starts from €15,000. Business Finland offers different funding solutions, e.g., Market Explorer, Tempo, R&D, NIY, but this needs to be discussed on a case-by-case basis. The funding protocol obeys a normal funding process.

Selection to a MAP program?

The selection of companies to the Market Access Program is a two-phase process. First, Business Finland evaluates companies and, after that, the universities will perform the final selection. Furthermore, MBA student groups and selected companies will be matched by the universities and then a work program can be started.

What is the right time to apply to a MAP program?

Innovation is needed also in the piloting phase:: the company is scaling up; it has a sufficient amount of financial and personnel resources; it is willing to make an effort in collaborating with MBA students during the program; and it plans to employ/has employed at least one person for the selected target market. One company can apply several times to any of the MAP programs as long as the content does not overlap with previous projects.

The result of the project can be either positive or negative concerning market entry. In the case of a positive result, the project data is very comprehensive and market entry can start immediately.

I am happy to answer to your questions about the MAP program.
