Opportunities for Finnish and Irish cybersecurity collaboration
Ireland might be a small island, but as far as cybersecurity opportunities are concerned, it can offer new market opportunities and Finnish-Irish partnerships. Ireland is an important hub for data storage, IT and pharma companies in Europe sectors prone also to cyber-attacks.
As highly digitalized countries, Finland and Ireland have a shared interest in collaborating in safer cyberspace. Our critical societal functions and the daily lives of our citizens are increasingly dependent on the use of ICT and cybersecurity has become vital to our prosperity. Ireland’s National Cyber Security Strategy (Dec 2019) aims to “protect our nation, to develop our cyber sector, and to deepen our international engagement on the future of the internet”.

He is a regular presenter and trainer at conferences worldwide and is much sought-after by Irish media for his expertise in data law, regulatory affairs and information ethics.
Sara is the Lead Analyst for the Finland – Ireland Cyber Security Market Review project. She held a senior consultant role for Finland-based competitive and market intelligence SaaS company, and for the government of The Republic of Ireland supporting Irish business in their export planning and execution, for a total of 11 years. For the last four years, she has been supporting a wide range of clients in market advisory and big data utilisation in emerging markets.
