Business Finland’s Low carbon built environment program is organizing a trade mission to Madrid. The purpose of this trade mission is to identify business collaboration opportunities for Finnish companies and get direct contacts in the Spanish market. During this two-days trade mission, Business Finland will organize tailored B2B meetings, networking event, and a visit to premises of local stakeholders.
Sustainability is a growing priority in the Spanish building sector, due to the current economic situation, the energy crisis, and the environmental objective of the Government. Even if slowly booming, the market for sustainable solutions and the awareness about the environmental impact of the sector will increase in the coming years. The use of the EU's Recovery Plan funds will emphasize the sustainable approach in the building sector in Spain, for both public procurement and industries applying for loans and grants. International investors are demanding sustainable products and some business segments, like non-residential building or the high-end market, are aware of the impact in the lifecycle of the assets.
Solutions wanted in the Spanish market include
- The use of wood, timber and recycled and reusable materials
- Industrialization and modular construction
- Digitization and automatization of the building processes
- IT solutions for operation and maintenance
- Traceability of materials and waste
- Bioclimatic architecture or projects that will be integrated in the urban/rural environment

28th March from 16.00–19.00: B2B Meetings + Networking at the Ambassador’s residence;
29th March from 9.00–14.00: Visit to company premises or booth in Rebuild trade show in Madrid
Who should attend?
The visit is aimed for Finnish companies that have export solutions for low-carbon built environment and want to pursue Spain as a strategic market or partner. The participating companies should have products/solutions/services for
- energy efficiency and the optimization of energy use,
- low carbon building materials,
- digital design, construction, and operation processes,
- data and tools for managing both the built environment life cycle and smooth everyday life.
Kindly note that participation is limited to 10 companies on a first come - first served basis
Practicalities & participation fee
To cover the expenses of arranging the business delegation program, the organizers will charge a participation fee.
- Major Companies: 700 EUR + 24% VAT per person
- Micro Businesses and SMEs: 525 EUR + 24% VAT per person
Business Finland will invoice the participation fee after the visit based on the actual costs. The invoiced fee will not exceed the amounts mentioned above. Kindly note that the participation fee does not include flights or accommodation of the participant nor meals outside the trade mission program.
