Business Finland’s Low carbon built environment program is organizing a trade mission to Munich, Germany. The purpose of this trade mission is to identify business collaboration opportunities for Finnish companies and get direct contacts in the German market. During this two-days trade mission that takes place during BAU, world’s leading trade fair for architecture, materials and systems, Business Finland will organize group visits and one-to-one-meetings.

Germany is Europe’s largest construction market with a valued size of €452 billion in 2021. Germany is aiming to a climate-neutral building stock by 2050, and large infrastructural refurbishing of old building stock is awaited in the coming years. The most relevant business opportunities for Finnish companies stem from these projects.

Commercial and Residential segments are top priority segments especially in the renovation market. Public sector has high requirements for sustainability for new buildings and infrastructure projects. Energy Management, sustainable building materials and BIM are already being implemented on a high scale due to drivers such as regulations and energy savings. Prefabrication, wooden construction, green roofs, and energy efficiency are trending.

BAU23 will take place in the Trade Fair Center Messe München – from 17.-22. of April 2023. Over 250.000 people attended Bau in 2019 with over 2.200 exhibitors from 45 different countries. Three leading target groups joining the trade fair are Trade Building Materials, Architects & Engineers, and Construction companies.
