Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Latin America and the Caribbean risks another lost decade like that of the 1980´s. However, as outlined in the Inter-American Development Bank’s (IDB) Vision 2025, amid accelerated digitalization and a readjustment of global value chains, the pandemic has also presented the region with an unprecedented opportunity to expand markets, generate employment, create more efficient and effective educational and social services and foment renewables. An increased demand for reliable and safe infrastructure, energy, advanced mining technology, better education and healthcare systems and bio-circular solutions create business opportunities for Finnish companies.
The Inter-American Development Bank Group (IDBG) is the leading development finance institution in Latin America and the Caribbean. It´s mission is to contribute to accelerating the economic and social development of the developing member countries in the region.
To promote the collaboration between Finnish private sector companies and the IDBG, Team Finland invites relevant Finnish companies to join the Inter-American Development Bank and Finland: Business Opportunities in Latin America and the Caribbean held on October 26th Wednesday at 16:00-17:15 Finnish time (09:00-10:15H EST).
The event will help Finnish private sector companies to learn about business opportunities in local markets; become aware of IDB’s vision 2025 strategy in priority sectors of interest; become familiarized with the Bank’s way of working in terms of procurement, tenders and bank executed operations; and hear about the main lessons learnt from success stories with the IDB.
