The Guangdong Province has issued the "Guangdong Ports Layout Plan (2021-2035)" in March 2022. The plan clearly states that the Guangdong Province should take the lead in building the Guangzhou Port and the Shenzhen Port into world-class ports in China as well as develop and enhance the international competitiveness of the Pearl River Delta ports cluster.
The Team Finland Network will arrange a local event in Guangzhou which is divided into 2 modules; a Hybrid Finland-China Ports Seminar and a meeting with the Guangzhou Port Group.
The Hybrid Finland-China Ports Seminar will be arranged in cooperation with the Guangdong Ports & Harbors Association. This Association has nearly 150 members covering major port groups in the province, engineering design, port machinery, colleges and universities, port services, etc. The hybrid seminar will be arranged in connection with the 2022 Guangzhou Smart Transportation Industry Expo and Smart Port Exhibition.
During this seminar, representative from the Department of Transport of Guangdong Province will introduce the Development, Policies and Trend of Ports Industry in the Guangdong Province. From Finland's side the Seminar will be opened by Ms. Soile Kauranen, Minister and chargée d'affaires a.i. at the Embassy of Finland.
The Team Finland Network will arrange a local event in Guangzhou which is divided into 2 modules.
Module 1 includes:
online or onsite participation to the Hybrid Finland-China Ports Seminar: Finnish solutions for green and smart ports on Thursday, 25 August, 2022 at 09:00 – 11:15 (EEST Helsinki) / 14:00 – 16:15 (CST Beijing) in Guangzhou.
Module 2 includes:
on site participation to the Hybrid Finland-China Ports Seminar: Finnish solutions for green and smart ports on Thursday, 25 August, 2022 at 13:30 – 17:00 (CST Beijing).
meeting with Guangzhou Port Group on Friday morning, 26 August, 2022.
Who should attend?
The event is aimed for Finnish companies operating in the ports industry and interested to hear more about the sustainable/green development, policies and trends in the Chinese/Guangdong Province ports industry, interests of Chinese ports operators, and latest ports solutions from Finland.
Due to the current travel restrictions, the on site module (2) is offered only to company representatives who are already located China.
Practicalities
Attendance to the module 1 or module 2 is free of charge, however, requires a registration via the link above.
The seminar will be held on-site in Hall 12.1, Area B, Canton Fair Complex, No. 380 Middle Yuejiang Road, Zhuhai District, Guangzhou, Guangdong province. Online participants will receive a link to join the event in their e-mail one day prior to the event. The platform is Zoom, event language is in English/Chinese, simultaneous interpretation will be provided.
There will be some free slots for interested companies to give a 3 min company pitch or show a 3 min video during the hybrid seminar. Please inform us of your interest in the registration form by August 18.
Please note that the number of participants to module 2 / visit to Guangzhou Port Group is limited by the hosts to a maximum of 20 company representatives on a first come - first served basis. We welcome one participant per company and if there is space, we can welcome a second participant from the same company.
